Gzowski Films is an Ottawa-based boutique production house. We specialize in story-based non-fiction communications for the web, broadcast, print and corporate medias.
Gzowski Films offers multiple camera, lighting and sound packages. We own and operate a complete non-linear video editing suite utilizing the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. We create graphics, sound and animation production on most of our projects.
Gzowski Films also offers writing, producing and directorial services to the international television and corporate markets. We offer award-winning journalism as well as ghost writing both fiction and non-fiction for the page and screen.
As a producer/writer/director, Mick Gzowski has created documentary films for CBC Television, CBC News Network, the CTV Network, the Documentary Channel, The Life Channel, The Discovery Channel, and The History Channel. As a broadcast writer, he’s written documentary films for National Geographic US, the Discovery Channel, two episodic dramas and a 13-part animated series for TV Ontario. As a DOP, he has worked for TVA, TV5, CBCTV and the Life Channel. He was profiled on CBC Radio’s national program Sunday Morning about his groundbreaking film on the HIV epidemic in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside V6A 1N6. He worked in sports programming for both CBC TV and for the Ottawa Senators. He has worked extensively in both radio and print. He was Prime Minister Paul Martin’s Official Videographer and worked on three election campaigns in both the war room and traveling with the leader. Since 2009, he has been a freelance member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery. His film clients include AFP, CP Images, TV5, the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, the Rideau Hall Foundation, the Walrus Magazine, WWF, UNESCO, UN, UNDP, and NDI among many others. His print byline appears in Maclean’s Magazine, the Globe and Mail, Sage Magazine and iPolitics.
